Blood of the Empire is finally released! I’m trying not to lose my mind as much as I normally do during a new release, but who am I kidding? It’s nice to have an excuse to slack off with a celebratory glass of wine or five. 🙂 I probably won’t be posting too much more from this, since you’re now able to read the whole thing, and I’ll be diving into edits on the next book. But for now, here’s a light-hearted moment between Elektra and her husband. A bit of editing and comma abuse to make this fit the sentence limit.
Elektra frowned after reading the message delivered by the servant. “Mother has invited us to dinner,” she told Jozef.
“Jozef chuckled. “Maybe she wants to get to know me better.” He puffed his chest out. “I’m sure she finds me attractive.”
“She thinks you’re good-looking,” Elektra said, shaking her head. Jozef’s old arrogance sometimes came through, though she found it amusing now. “But she’s convinced you’re simple-minded.”
“Good.” Jozef’s dark eyes sparkled, “I went to quite a bit of effort to make her think that.”

I’m not caught up on the books so I’m not sure about Jozef, but I think I like him. lolol. Not sure how good-looking or simple minded he is, but I’m sure he’s witty in a very likable way. lol

Being a handsome idiot has worked well for him so far, but it might not be enough. Thank you! I did end up taking a day off from editing for the new release. I can’t concentrate while constantly refreshing my Amazon dashboard. 🙂
