It’s time for Weekend Writing Warriors! Every Sunday, a bunch of writers post 8-10-sentence snippets from their WIPs on their blogs. There’s a lot of reading, commenting and great writing. Click on the link to see the full list.
Sorry I missed last week. My husband had unexpected shoulder surgery and we were really scrambling for a few days. Everything went fine and he’s recovering pretty well, though he’ll be home at least six weeks. So I’ve increased my work hours, making writing time harder to find. I’m still inching toward the end of this book, though!
We’re back with Teodora, still being forced to recover from her bout with insanity. She’s decided to send for her old friend, Livilla Maxima, who arrives very quickly. Teodora is feeling put upon and starts complaining about her situations immediately.
“There’s no one I can rely on, except you.”
Livilla cocked her head. “Not even Elektra?”
“Especially not Elektra,” Teodora snapped. “She botched the situation in Isenwald, and I’m still not certain she wasn’t in cahoots with the enemy. Even though Princess Viviane ended up in power again, I suspect it wasn’t meant to turn out that way.” When Livilla said nothing, she continued. “And then she joined with Mattila in forcing my abdication. Oh, and she married Jozef Mattila. I can’t possibly trust her.”
